Account Information
Your name and email address when you sign in with Google or Apple.
Family Profile
Names, ages, dietary preferences, and health conditions of family members you add. This is used solely to personalise meal suggestions.
Meal Activity
Meals you mark as planned, liked, or disliked. This helps MealMate learn your family's preferences over time.
Feedback
Any feedback you submit through the app, including your rating, category, and message.
Usage Data
Basic app usage information such as meal types selected and features used. No browsing history or device data is collected.
2. How We Use Your Information

3. AI & Third-Party Services
MealMate uses the following trusted third-party services:
OpenAI (GPT-4)
Meal suggestions are generated using OpenAI's API. Your family profile information is sent to OpenAI to generate personalised suggestions. OpenAI's data usage policy applies. We do not send names or identifying information — only dietary preferences and health conditions.
Supabase
Your account and family data is securely stored using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Google & Apple Sign-In
We use Google and Apple OAuth for secure sign-in. We only receive your name and email address.
Formspree
In-app feedback is sent via Formspree to our team at info@idataone.com.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with industry-standard encryption. We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure each user can only access their own data. No other user can see your family's information.
Health conditions entered for family members (e.g. "Diabetic", "Weight loss") are stored only to personalise suggestions and are never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Children's Privacy
MealMate allows you to add children as family members to personalise meal suggestions. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children's information is entered by parents/guardians and is used only for meal personalisation within the family account.
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at info@idataone.com. Upon deletion, all your personal data and family profiles will be permanently removed within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data
- Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies & Tracking
MealMate does not use cookies or tracking technologies for advertising. We do not display ads. The app does not track your location.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of MealMate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
